I know why I don't see many first run movies - ten bucks, ouch! This movie was good especially considering how it was made - by an amateur church group, with actors volunteering. Kirk Cameron is more attractive when he is playing someone "real" - a man with real problems. It is good to say that because of him finding a relationship with God he could find the love to save his marriage, but it makes you wonder what is the answer for all those Christians who already have Christ but have terrible marital troubles and get divorced?

It makes me think of Beth Moore's study "Breaking Free" and the chapter on filling our lives with things other than God. Christians do that - we find Christ but after that go looking for something to fill our emptiness instead of God. It is because of not looking to God, and not depending on God that marriages get into trouble.

Yup, God isn't some kind of booster shot that you take once and expect to have a perfect marriage. God must remain first in the lives of both husband and wife every day. That means denying yourself everyday so that you can pick up your cross and follow Christ. And of course that means going out of your way to put your spouse first too.

Good words, W.B. And hard words. That taking up the cross daily - ouch! Good to hear from you, and hope to hear from you some more!!
