Bobcat and Fawn
The Jesusita Fire in Santa Barbara , CA last week caused these two to take shelter together. The fawn is 3 days old and the bobcat about 3 weeks. The fawn came from somewhere in the fire and the bobcat from Carpentaria. They immediately bonded and snuggled together under a desk in the Santa Barbara County Dispatch Office for several hours.
Extremely alert reader is reporting that Animal Planet is reporting the bobcat kitten was rescued near Arnold Schwarzeneggers ranch, where it was dehydrated and near death.
They rescued the fawn during last weeks wildfire. Although wild animals, especially of separate species, are never placed together due to regulations, in this emergency situation, they had no choice. During the mayhem of the fire, they were forced to put animals anywhere they could, since they had run out of crates large enough for the fawn. The kitten ran to the fawn, and it was instant bonding.

Buzzard, Bat and Bumblebee

THE BUZZARD:
If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and
is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its
ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is
that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a
run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit,
it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner
for life in a small jail with no top.
THE BAT:
The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable
nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level
place.. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it
can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully,
until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can
throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like
a flash..
THE BUMBLEBEE:
The bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler,it will be there
until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the
means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find
some way out through the sides near the bottom.. It will
seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys
itself.
PEOPLE:
In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the
bumblebee. We struggle about with all our problems and
frustrations, never realizing that all we have to do is look
up! That's the answer, the escape route and the solution
to any problem! Just look up.
Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up!
Story of two horses

Now this story comes from Jeff. Notice the amazing parallel between this story and the story about the dog named Faith. There are echoes in the universe.
There is a field, with two horses in it.
From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse.
But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will
notice something quite amazing. Looking into the eyes
of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner
has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a
good home for him.
This alone is amazing.
If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the
sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of
the sound, you will see that it comes from the
smaller horse in the field.
Attached to the horse's halter is a small bell.
It lets the blind friend know where the other
horse is, so he can follow.
As you stand and watch these two horses, you'll see
that the horse with the bell is always checking on the
blind horse, and that the blind horse will listen for
the bell and then slowly walk to where the other
horse is, trusting that he will not be led astray.
When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter
of the barn each evening, it stops occasionally and
looks back, making sure that the blind friend isn't
too far behind to hear the bell.
Like the owners of these two horses, God does not
throw us away just because we are not perfect or
because we have problems or challenges.
He watches over us and even brings others into our
lives to help us when we are in need.
Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by
the little ringing bell of those who God places in
our lives.
Other times we are the guide horse, helping others
to find their way....
Good friends are like that... you may not always
see them, but you know they are always there.
Please listen for my bell, and I'll listen for yours.

And God Said "Let Them Be Cute..."
Of course, there are people who have been deceived by this and gotten too chummy with wild animals and gotten killed in the process. But there has to be a reason God made everything cute.
Maybe it was God's way of putting man in charge of the animal kingdom. It's why we are prone to become the ultimate "parents" of animals.
OK, KD reminds me - there are animals that are not so cute! Snakes are still not cute, no way. But most of the zoo animals were cute, and some are so ugly they're cute too.

A Dream I Had Last Night
So I dreamt about dogs - all kinds of dogs, but since I love cats, the dogs were sort of like cats, only they were dogs. And I was loving these dogs, and thinking about how great it is to love an animal.
And suddenly, I had a baby in my lap and it was my younger brother. When I was about 8 I did hold my younger brother in my lap like this. In my dream he was sick and dying, and I was saying, "no" to him. I was wooing him back to health.
The thing is that my brother is distant from God now. He had a relationship to God in his youth but was disturbed by the idea that God would send anyone to hell, so he left Him.
I was thinking, "how much more we love a person than an animal, because there is so much more to get to know." And I thought how I loved him, and I cried.
Then he revived.

Constantine 2005
The movie had me up all night because it impacted me so much as a Christian. It makes bold statements and asks bold questions that had my mind reeling for hours. It's depictment of hell is so real, and it also brings to life other things that are a part of real life though many may not know it - demons that are present with us, even clothed in human flesh, as well as angels of God clothed in human flesh. Satan is real.
The thing that kills me is that it is brilliantly done but by people who don't understand or portray God's grace. What is wrong with this picture? The people who should be showing us the true picture of what hell is like, and the spirit world, and also bringing us up to the God of grace, and doing it brilliantly and creatively is God's people. Ach!
Keanu Reeves plays a man who, no, I'm not going to spoil it. Let's just say that he is trying to buy his way into heaven, and it's like there is hardly a thing he can do to get there. He performs exorcisms, and comes face to face with demons.
The movie doesn't say that his power is God's power, exactly, until you get to one part of the film, then he and a friend invoke the power of the Holy Spirit by using a ritual that is used by the Catholic church that mentions the Holy Spirit.
The symbol of the cross appears here and there, so you know that it is important to the film.
I need to see the movie again, as there is more that I have missed.
The movie powerfully brings you face to face with the question of life after death and the possibility of hell. There is precious little hope of assurance of going to heaven, however.
But it is going to make people think about "what if" about going to hell.
I applaud the filmmakers for powerfully showing the reality of the spirit world!
I have been to something like hell on manic episodes. It's familiar.

How to stop church gossip
Several members did not approve of her extra curricular activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused Frank, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his old pickup parked in front of the town's
only bar one after noon.
WOULD KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING !
Frank, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just turned and walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny.
He said nothing.

Eva Cassidy - Songbird
This is a song I did playing my guitar in the years when I was doing gigs playing and singing. I forgot about this song. It was Fleetwood Mac's.

Accolades to Ben Worley
He is so sweet for helping me out with my blog, and so creative!
He recently got married to Mall Diva (Faith) and I wish them all the happiness that God offers!!!!
Hope to Haiti
My friend Scott Bonnell puts out the energy to reach out to people in Haiti and bring them water, and hope! God bless him for this courageous effort!
Idolatry
Ways I see that Bush failed us:
1. He started a war to liberate Iraq, which was good in some ways, but it prepared the way for the Iraqis to rebuild Babylon, so that makes America directly responsible for the rebuilding of Babylon. Babylon is where the Anti-Christ is supposed to rule from. Great.
2. He started the overspending. His stimulus package was probably not a good thing.
3. He started a surveillance system on the American people that is very invasive of our privacy.
We cannot trust in our president over and above God. If we do it will invite evil. Many well meaning Christians have done this. We have shifted our focus to people in political positions instead of focusing on God.

The System Of The Organized Church Is Flawed
A person can be listening to the Holy Spirit and be waiting on God, asking Him to show them if they are ready to be used by Him, and then move out as they are led, and thus allow God to work on their character over a period of time before moving out. But there are those who are all too eager to get into high positions because it validates them, and they lack genuine, authentic closeness to the Father, and the character that is essential to the position that they seek. These people do not listen and they do not wait, and the system of the church that exists is all too willing to promote them anyway.
This is a sad truth that I saw played out with my own father, who now in his late life is left with seemingly no relationship to God at a time in his life when it would seem most desperately needed. He lacks what he needs even for himself, yet he "shepherded" a whole flock. It is so pathetic.

Hearing God's Voice
We must hear God's voice or we are lost.
How will we know the way to the job where we belong, the church we belong to, the people we belong to, the things we should be doing, as opposed to the things which are frivolous?
Jesus said, "my sheep hear my voice." This is what distinguishes us as his sheep - that we hear him, and then follow him.
