Hi Gabrielle: I read your blog account of how Buddy went downhill over a period of a few weeks, and how you finally had to make the hard choice of having him euthanized recently. I haven't responded 'til now as I came down with a cold or something on Sat. & have been experiencing a lot of fatigue.
My condolences to you on the loss of your beloved pet. That surely is a hard experience to go through; I hope you will recover soon & that you'll allow God to minister to you in this time of mourning.
I haven't had any pets since I was a teenager, living at home. But in last 6 months or so, I have been doing a lot of house & dogsitting for the owners of the Co. I work for. I have developed an appreciation for Daisy the Yellow Lab; we like to go out for runs in the woods near their home. I can imagine how I would feel if she were to pass on; I know I would feel terrible for a while. If I had the finances, I would love to own a dog myself.
I hope you will consider getting another cat; there must be a lot of them available for adoption these days. Perhaps that will help you--what do you think??
Thank you dear Jeff. I am glad to hear you have learned the value of an animal companion. Dogs are so wonderful. I would get a dog if I could afford one in the sense of all the work a dog takes.
For someone who has time and energy for a dog, and a place for a dog, and can give him the attention he deserves, a dog is better than a cat.
But I always go back to cats because they are easier to take care of. They demand more attention than people realize. This last cat was way more needy than I ever realized. But they still have less intense need than a dog.
I do look forward to a new pet. It's this part that is so hard, the interim, with the horrible feelings of loss.

I am sorry for the loss of your pet, Gabrielle.
Thank you Helen. It's getting harder now. I kind of knew it would get harder before it would get easier.
The void is incredible!!!!
