tell me WHY it's not ok to get inspiration from one song to make another???? What's sad, since I have both songs on my song collection and did not recognize an immediate connection, is that a TRIAL of Pharrell and Thicke is so against the spirit of loving music and celebrating the gifts of both Marvin gaye and his alleged rivals!!!
Question asked in the trial of Pharrell: did you think of Marvin Gaye's song at all while writing this song? Pharrell replies "no." What else is he going to say? But the absurdity! If he merely heard the song "Got To Give It Up" and then THOUGHT of it or got any kind of writing inspiration, THEN it is a federal crime???????? Achhhhhhhhhh our freedom greatly threatened!!!
