Jordan Peterson says, 'Acknowledge that life is suffering.' In his 12 rules for life
"Your goal is to make progress to avoid suffering. Overprotective adults avoid discussing suffering with their children, with the hope that it will protect them from it. This just makes children unprepared to deal with suffering when they run into it."
I agree. I think I try to live with as little suffering as possible, and yet it can be difficult. But I agree with making life less painful. Only problem is people's drug addictions, and other addictions, and evil crutches, and turning down an evil path often come from avoidance of pain, and I'm sure this man would agree, we should not let avoidance cause us to take those wrong turns, bc they will lead to even greater suffering. In other words, we should not avoid pain, but make progress toward avoiding it, in a healthful way. This also comes from surrender to God.
By the way, Peterson is a psychologist, and psychology prof in Canada.
