I traveled 2000 miles in a week just to be in one of my favorite places for a day! A day! It took me three days to get there and three to get back. That was crazy, I know, but on the day i spent in Three Forks area, as you can see, I had a fun time with my bottle of Corona in hand, inner tube in the other. I was told where to go to find others who were getting onto the Madison river to float. There I found the group
They had the extra inner tube that I used and tied me on to their group. We floated down the river for two hours. About an hour in I found out they all like Obama. I laughed to myself, but told them I'm leaning to the right. Luke was so cool. We talked about how people shouldn't become enemies over their different political views. Luke and Rachel live in New York together. Rachel is teaching middle school social studies and Luke is living off his art and music. He must be pretty good. True to his artist nature, and his age (23) he went searching for my ring when I lost it in the river. It slipped off my hand. It was my purity ring. It gave me a chance to share the meaning of my ring. Luke and I talked about money, how you do need it, how the ring was bought with money and was used as a symbol of something spiritual. He said that New York makes him think about what having money means, seeing people who are anywhere from very poor to very rich. Luke is a seeker and a thinker.
After the two hour ride down the river, they drove me back to my car. I said goodbye and directed Luke to my blog. I then went to the hot springs of Norris, just up the river, on the way back to my campground. They had a bluegrass band playing, with lots of people soaking in the natural hot springs.
The river pictured is actually the Jefferson, not the Madison, but they run very close to each other.
Note: i only drank a half bottle of beer.

How nice to find a family to tag along with. Way to go by not holding in your right leanings.
Well, I was half way down the trip on the Madison when they all let me know they basically love Obama, and it was almost like, "OK, untie me now!" But Luke and I were right about how people shouldn't end friendships over their political leanings.
