Hairspray Doesn't Cut It!

OK, it's nice to make a movie about large ladies, and make them look presentable, and promote acceptance of them. But on the other hand, obesity is a horrible American disease, and there is nothing funny or pretty about it. It is depressing, no matter how you look at it. When Travolta sings about how he(she) can't help eating more of the Christmas ham, it's not cute or funny.

Then there's the liberal agenda of pandering to groups like blacks and overweight women to get their money. Oh brother! Then there's the liberal agenda of promoting shallow sexual relationships between attractive white girls and attractive young black boys, and that as a rebellion against the staid, legalistic beliefs of a cold, religious mother. Once again, the Christian is painted as a freak!

No, once again, just save your money honey!

I loved the young man who hosts the hairspray show. They seemed to have picked him because he embodies the clean-cut, young male of the early 60's, and he's good looking in a really clean sort of way! But don't see the movie just for that!

I should know by now that Queen Latifah spells bad news. She just doesn't have the values, in general.

It's fun to see John Travolta in this role, doing a good job of playing a woman. But Hollywood is just on a decline, and I, for one am not happy about it.
