Save Your Money! It has dark themes. It starts out with a young man in love with a woman. She says that a man has his eye on her for marriage and is about to propose. It has a romantic setting - England in early 1800's (?) or earlier(?) Anyway, the young man is protesting the marriage of this man to the young woman. He says he will go to the ends of the earth to have her hand in marriage himself. He says in order to get her a ring he'll go very far, so he ventures beyond this stone wall that surrounds the area in which they live and finds himself in a gypsy village where he is seduced by a gypsy girl who pulls him onto a covered wagon type thing.
The next thing it shows is him back home and a baby, the product of what happened back there at the covered wagon, being delivered to him. Very romantic, eh? Apparently he forgot the whole reason he was going out - that he was getting a ring for his beloved, and just decided to have sex with some other woman. Great plot! Great beginning for a movie that's supposed to be "like The Princess Bride." It's nothing like it. The Princess Bride has basic values in place. This movie has no basic values in place, and has plenty of dark themes - witches and evil villainous characters and I couldn't stomach it all. Romantic it is NOT!
It's time to pray for Hollywood. They were losing their inspiration years ago. And losing their inspiration goes hand in hand with losing their values.
