Cup Of Cold Water

They send me brochures telling me about their ministry and reporting their finances, and since I've begun sending money to Jim who is in their division in Thailand, it's good to keep up. I was reading today about their work in Bolivia. They go to the poor and disadvantaged there, where people live without electricity and running water, and where drunkenness is rampant, and they treat their diseases. They showed photos of some of the maladies - things that we don't see, because here people get to things like that before they become such huge problems. One was an ear that had a huge multicolored growth on the lobe the size of a plum.

Now I've always known that I was not cut out for anything in the medical area, but I believe God would send me out to people like that to believe for their miraculous healing, and I would lay hands on them, and they would believe more than people here for their healing, and that would be exciting.

It said in the flier that an 88 year old lady was ailing and looking to the missionary as if he could miraculously stop her from aging. I believe that's because he recognized that he had the power of the spirit that "raised Jesus from the dead" in him and she believed in that spirit. I've heard about the faith of these people in third world countries.

We can be assured that the Lord's will is going to be done and that He will be glorified, whether or not people are healed.

While in Thailand, we laid hands and prayed for a man dying of cancer. We asked the Lord to heal him and show His power to the village but the guy ended up dying.

As it turns out, this was still a tremendous witness to the village and the Lord did, in fact, show His power. He didn't show it by healing the guy; He showed it through some of His people humbling themselves and becoming servants to the people in the village.

Whether by healing, miracles, supernatural events, or simply by believers displaying Calvary-quality love, Jesus will make Himself known and His mustard seed kingdom will expand until it takes over the garden.

His seed will expand - that's what is so amazing about God. Thanks for sharing, since you've been there. I just have big plans - I want to see miracles, and I am in circles who are also anticipating and believing for those. They also have had those disappointments but they keep on believing and don't give up. I've also been disappointed in my own quest for healing but I don't give up. And God is working all the time, as you said. God just loves to show up and show that He has been working all along!

I am the person who the Cup of Cold Water Ministries wrote about. I'm the nurse who this 88 yr old woman turned to in hopes I could stop her from feeling old.
As a nurse there is only so much we can do. Had I had so much faith and wisdom of God and the bible, perhaps I would have been able to pray hard enough for her aches and pains to go away. Although I believe in my heart there is a God, I never learned much about him sad to say.
I love to help those truly in need.
I welcome you to read about our mission in Bolivia: http://pamsboliviatrip.blogspot.com

God Bless you!
