Human Beings Can Be Stupid

This is evidenced by the fact that I am an intelligent, mature woman in control of her faculties, yet on Tuesdays, garbage day, I cannot seem to back out of the driveway without hitting the garbage can that my mother has put out for the garbage man.

I try, I really do, to avoid it. Every day other than Tuesday, I look carefully and back out carefully, but then for some stupid reason when Tuesday rolls around again I forget to be careful when backing out and "bump" I go. Once the can was full and I cracked the lens of the right rear light on my new car only 1 1/2 months after I'd bought it! Brilliant!

I don't engineer bridges for the city. I don't design, build or inspect them, but if I did we'd probably be in trouble. Yet, even the people who do, being more competent than myself are probably still at least somewhat capable of being stupid, just because like myself, they are also human. Our problem is that we worship the god humanity, and that god failed. Yet, there are those who won't learn their lesson.

I don't think it has anything to do with intelligence; get your eyes checked. I couldn't believe what happened to my eyes when I hit 45, downhill almost overnight.

Unfortunately, I'm seeing fine, trust me. I actually fail to look when I back out.

I hate to point out the obvious, but perhaps the cans could be put in a different location? Garbage men/women can be very accomodating.

Thanks, "educated". That's funny. We haven't figured out where to put them. There's this one spot there for the can, and otherwise it's over into the neighbor's. Hard to explain.
