I was hedging going to the Holy Spirit Conference here in the Twin Cities. I went to one workshop and sat next to some people who weren't very friendly and thought that's what it was going to be like. I had seen that before in places where people were supposed to be so "enlightened" but didn't seem to have the basic love in place.
I went to another workshop on healing with my mom, and then didn't go to any evening meetings because she couldn't go and I didn't want to go alone, so I said. I was afraid of disappointment. But Saturday night, the last night of the conference, something tugged at me to go.
I went up for prayer without hesitation, and a lady with a prophetic gift came up to me immediately and spoke prophetic words over me. She said that I was passionately in love with Jesus (true) and she called on God to "set my feet free to run after Christ." When she said "freedom, freedom" I thought of my blog. Her words about me were correct, but she didn't know me - God spoke through her.
I then proceeded to get prayer from everyone else who I could. Other ministers on the prayer team just seemed anxious to volunteer. Each one had something to offer. One was a very attractive, young man, which ministered to me. He said that I had an anointing on me and belonged on the prayer team. That was a confirmation, as I was thinking about how I ought to be ministering to people at that conference.
One lady closer to my age helped me with the weight of dryness and bitterness at home that I have to deal with and helped me to confess some sin.
Another older lady helped me with my work situation.
Two young girls prayed with me about wanting even now to minister to youth, and they added that they thought I was meant to be married and prayed for that.
The body of Christ touched me, as always-people who I don't know-with a touch from Jesus. And just a touch from Jesus is all it takes to changes things. Just that touch makes my heart uncoil inside like a wilted flower coming to life again. I was like a parched desert getting rained on. It was so fantastic.
The young man came up to me because the Holy Spirit was "hitting" me and knocking me over and he came to "catch" me so I wouldn't hit the floor.
Just a touch from Jesus.

Excellent and beautiful post, Gabrielle. I have had similar experiences and it is powerful when God speaks through someone, who doesn't really know us, directly and to our hearts.
Thanks for sharing and the excellent reminder of how wonderful it is to be part of the Body of Christ!
Isn't it?!!
