Freedom From Religion

When I saw GodTube's new site called Tangle, and their motto, "freedom from religion," I was offended. That's because I am so immersed in the terminology of the church!

I forget that religion was the arch enemy of Jesus. I forget that what we have is not religion but a relationship with God.

Religion is what is sending a lot of people to church today, on Easter - you know, go to church on Christmas and Easter. It'll kind of wipe out any transgressions you've committed in between those times.

Man. I'm free. Jesus paid the price. I don't have to do things to pay for my sins.

I don't go to church to appease God. I go to connect with other people who want encouragement in their faith, who want friendship with other believers.

And I didn't go to church this morning. I stayed home, and then went to the coffee shop.

Wow! An Easter Revelation!

I got my computer back.

Do you ever have a moment of revelation? Something happens and your world is transformed?

My favorite book was "Blessing or Curse" by Derek Prince, because I remembered that God used his book back in the mid-nineties to free me.

That's what I was thinking anyway. I'm not sure what really happened back in the mid-nineties.

I believe there is some validity to the idea of breaking curses that have been passed down to us by our ancestors, but when you embark on reading a book like that one, you can become very introspective, and here is what I realized: you can be inviting "the leaven of the pharisees," into your life.

Jesus warned against that. What is it? It's something that gets in, just a little bit, and makes the whole bunch of dough rise. It poisons us.

In the context Jesus used it, leaven was not a good thing because it was the leaven of the pharisees, which is the love of the law, living by one's own righteousness and not trusting in God's grace to forgive sin.

I realized that I was inviting that in by trying to dig for sins of the past, or my own sins, when Jesus has forgiven me, Jesus has broken the curse of sin over my life.

Derek Prince, the author of the book, is saying that there can be a curse from the sins of ancestors causing all sorts of horrible things happening to us that are beyond our control. By breaking the curse, through claiming what Jesus did on the cross when he became a curse for us, who knew no sin, we can be free from its control over our life.

The Kennedys are an example of a family with a curse. With all the deaths that have occurred through the generations - untimely and tragic, you can see a curse at work.

What Prince is suggesting is valid. Curses must be broken, and change will come.

But if you have already had curses broken, if you have already had your sins forgiven, and you continue to dig for more, you are not resting in Jesus' finished work of grace.

In psychology, there are two basic types of personality disorders: the kind where a person never seems to see what they do wrong, can never come to repentance, can never admit to wrongdoing or correct themselves, and the kind who feel terribly guilty and responsible for every wrong, and who have a terrible time coming to a place of peace in knowing that they are forgiven.

Each of us leans toward one of the two types.

I know that I lean towards the second type.

That is why there is not going to be a pastor's sermon to fit both types.

Some people need the hell-fire sermon to wake them out of their lethargy regarding their sin, and get them out of "cheap grace" while the other type of people are going to feel condemned while listening to that same type of sermon. Those other type of people need reassurance of salvation, and a double dose of grace.

Being that second type, Derek Prince puts me in a place of feeling condemned and of wanting to please God in the flesh - wanting to live by law and not grace.

Back in the mid-nineties, when I look back on events that took place, I can see that this wanting to live by the law led me to become unable to accept God's grace and ultimately caused even worse things to happen to me than any curse that I ever knew in my life.

That is why I put down the book and fled frantically to a secular source for comfort from the leaven of the pharisees. And God led me to Chris Martin. I had seen him on "Frontline" and there is something about him, something grace-filled.

I examined his music further and realized it is really sweet! He is definitely walking in some kind of light. And it encourages me to get out of the pharisee mentality and be where people are who are living in grace.

It's just that - living in God's unmerited favor - reveling in it! God led me to Chris Martin and he saved me last night when I was drowning in the condemnation that had come from reading that book.

How often Christians find themselves doing this - going to a bar to find people who will accept them, and going to a secular artist to find grace! Ha ha!

How is that related to Easter? Jesus paid the entire price for our sins. The whole price!!!! There is nothing we can add to it. We cannot earn it. We do not need to do anything more to atone for our sins. We do not need to be sick. We do not need to be poor. We do not need to suffer!

Many times, people who aren't going to church, or who have a somewhat distant relationship with God have a better grasp of this fact. They have a grasp of grace, while Christians who are going to church and doing "all the right things" are trying to win God's favor.

Lighten up. Jesus is alive!

Oasis & Coldplay - Live Forever

There's something about Chris Martin - something eternal, something very good. I saw him on a "Frontline" special and liked his personality. He keeps coming back to my memory. I sought out his music tonight when needing grace.

This song "Live Forever" makes me think he's thinking about heaven.

Don't ask me why, but God used Chris Martin to wake me up to the reality of living in the here and now, loving others, and by His divine grace.

Speed of Sound - Coldplay

This is the well-known song by them that I like best.

Coldplay - Viva La Vida

I just adore Chris Martin. I'd like to meet him.

Yoo Hoo! There's a Boo Boo!

My computer, brand new(!) since January has a flaw!

It's getting repaired. Once again, a test to see what life is like without my laptop in my lap every day.

Oh Lord, what trials!!!!!!!!

I'll see you all soon!

My stint as a Stand-Up

I have a picture to post. I have to go find it and scan it for you.

I worked at Comedy Gallery in Minneapolis as an usher in the early nineties, and while there, took a shot at stand-up on open stage.

I did a total of twelve gigs until I realized that I was starting to get drunk in order to go on stage. That ended it. I was getting more nervous instead of less.

One of the most popular jokes I did was a parody of a song.

I sang like Barbara Streisand and did her song "People."

Here are the words....

People, people who need people
are the stupidest people...in the world (laughs)

who needs them? who needs the aggravation?

when you let go your human pride...and show all the need inside
well then people, they make you feel stupid (laughs)

Lovers, are very special people
the most ridiculous people, in the world...(laughs)

with one person, one very special person
a feeling deep in your soul, says you're a big asshole (laughs)

someone hurt you first, so you wouldn't hurt them worse
that's people

people will be people
that's why I can't stand people....any......more! (laughter and applause)

I guess it goes to show people have a fair amount of cynicism, but let's face it - needing people has backfired on all of us!

I did this song back in the days of wandering without Christ. Today, I need people, not like I needed people before Jesus filled my life and took the place of needing people too much, often the cause of being hurt.

Today I need people because having Jesus makes it possible for me to be vulnerable, since I have Him always to bounce back on if someone fails me.

I wish I'd had that wisdom back when I did this song.

Is Your Cat Plotting to Kill You?

Is your cat plotting to kill you?

Herb Mjorud's Pray-Reading The Word

To read an introduction to Herb Mjorud, go here.

I confess You Jesus Christ as Lord of my life. I know that my sins are forgiven because You are the Lamb of God Who took away the sins of the world. Jo 1: 29 Your blood was shed for me and when I called upon Your name, confessing my sins, inviting You to come into my heart, you forgave me and came into my heart, and set me free of the damning power of sin and guilt.

I reckon myself now dead to sin and alive to God in and through You, Lord Jesus Christ. Ro 6:11

As You “were wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities,” You also “took our infirmities and bore our diseases.” Mt 8:17, Is 53:4,5

Your Word explicitly says, “with your stripes we are healed,” so therefore in Your eyes I am already made whole. In light of Your Words I give no place to sickness or infirmities in my body for You “have sent forth your Word to heal me.” Ps 107:20

Jesus, You said You “came to give me life and to give it to me more abundantly,” Jo 10:10 and You said that I am “more than a conqueror through You Who loved me.” Ro 8:27 and “gave Yourself for me” and therefore I know you have given me victory over Satan, sickness and infirmities as well as over sin by Your death upon the cross.

Your victory is my victory for You won it for me so I reach out and take total victory. I say with Paul, “But thanks be unto God, Who in Christ, ALWAYS LEADS US IN VICTORY.” II Cor 2:14

Lord Jesus, I believe Your Word and I stand on Your Word, inclining my whole being to hear Your Word, to understand Your Word and to keep Your Word with all my heart and soul for I know Your Words are “life and healing to all my flesh.” Pr 4:20-22

Because You “took my infirmities and bore my diseases” I refuse to allow infirmities and diseases to dominate my body. Your Holy Spirit is within me (Jo 14:17) and He is mediating Your healing virtue that You have won for me for the whole of my body.

I claim my body as a living sacrifice unto You, as a temple for the Holy Spirit, and therefore my body belongs to You. You indwell me and Your life permeates my soul and spirit and now my body as well so that I am filled with all the fullness of God in the here and now. Eph 3:14-21

Because You are in me and Your Word says “I am the Lord that heals you,” (Ex. 15:20) I claim healing for my body and I speak to my body, saying, “In Jesus’ Name, receive your healing.”

Therefore I believe that Your healing virtue is flowing into my blood, into my immune system, bringing all my glands into perfect function, so that my body is responding to Your Word even as did the body of Lazarus who had been dead for four days with every cell, gland muscle, and bone defective.

Nothing is too difficult for You. You have given my spirit eternal life and Your Word says, “If the spirit of Him Who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you (and this He does), He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through the Sprit which dwells in you.” Ro. 8:11

Lord, I want Your Word to become a part of me. As You were the Word that became flesh (Jo 1:14), I want Your Word to become flesh through me. Your Word is healing health flowing into my blood stream and hence to every cell of my body, restoring and healing my body, all according to Your plan which You reveal in the Scriptures.

Therefore, all arthritis and related sicknesses are dissolving and leaving; my joints, muscles, bones are again functioning as You created them to function. You are purifying my blood, placing a balance of nutriments in my metabolism, restoring my entire vascular system to wholeness and health.

All infirmities and diseases must flee for the Spirit of God is upon me and the Word of God is in my heart, upon my mind, and uttered by my lips.

Fear, oppression, depression, paranoia have no power over me for I confess healing and health for my mind as well as for my body.

Your Word reveals that sickness and disease can come as a curse for breaking Your Moral Law (Dt 28: 58,59) but Your Word reveals that You, the “Christ, redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for me.” Gal 3:13

Therefore I am delivered from the curse of the law and all other curses in Your name, Lord Jesus.

And You bruised the head of the serpent by Your death on the cross, for you came to “destroy the works of the devil.” (1 Jo 3:8) and Peter reveals that sickness is an oppression of the devil. Acts 10:38

Jesus, “You have all power and authority in heaven and upon the earth,” and You have given me the power of attorney to use Your name, saying “resist the devil and he will flee from you, and in My name you will cast out demons.” (Mk 16:17) so therefore I claim victory over Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of my testimony. Rev 12:11

So I say, “By the blood of Jesus, I resist you Satan and command you to leave together with all evil spirits, including spirits of infirmity and unclean demons. Go! in the name of Jesus!”

Lord Jesus, You said, “I will restore your health and heal all your wounds.” (Jer 30:17)

Therefore You are restoring my health and healing all my wounds.

The Holy Spirit said, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but You deliver them from them all.” Ps 34:19) Therefore, you are delivering me from every affliction.

And You said, “For you who fear my name, The Sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in His sings.” (Mal 4:2) and I do fear Your name as one who believes implicitly in You and that You are in me and never absent so therefore I know there is healing in Your wings for me.

David, by the Spirit, wrote, “Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all His benefits; Who forgives all your iniquity and heals all your diseases.” (Ps 103: 2,3) therefore You have forgiven all my iniquity and healed all my diseases.

Isaiah, in speaking by the Spirit about the Jerusalem to which we have been called, said that, “no inhabitant will say, ‘I am sick,’” (Is 33:24) and Your Word reveals that as a believer my citizenship is in heaven (Phil 3:20) and that I have “come to Mount Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem” (Heb 12:22) therefore it is my right and calling to be free of all sickness.

You said in Your Word that these signs will follow those who believe, “In my name You shall lay your hands upon the sick, and they shall recover (Mk 16:18) and I have had believers lay hands upon me in Your name to berid me of all sicknesses and infirmities so therefore I know I am recovering.

All this is according to Your Word and Your Word is inviolate. And Your Word reveals further, “If anyone is sick, let them call the elders and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick man and the Lord will raise him up.” (Ja 5: 14,15)

I have been anointed with oil in this way for healing, so I know Your hand is upon me for total healing,

I know therefore that, according to Your Word, You are healing me. I am not going by what I see or feel for Your Word says that “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen,” (Heb 11:1)

I am not gauging my healing by sense perception but by revelation that comes through Your Word which You have given to me and therefore I am constrained to thank and praise You and give You the glory for my complete healing and restoration even before it is manifested tangibly before me.

Now I pray that the Holy Spirit will set a guard over my mind to keep me from any negative thought contrary to Your Word in respect to my healing, for I know the fiery darts of the devil will try to dissuade me in this my claim for healing according to Your Word.

I confess any negative thoughts of the past. I know too that if I regard iniquity in y heart, You will not hear me, and therefore I confess unto You all and every sin that I have recently committed knowing You are faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me from all sin.

And I hold no grudges or resentments against anyone who has sinned against me, even as You have requested in Your Word, that I may have a full rapport with you in this my prayer and confession for healing.

I present my mind to you as an instrument of righteousness so that I will think and pray and speak only in accord with Your Word. I know by faith that You are healing me, and I know I have been praying in accordance with Your will, and so I have confidence that I am receiving what I have asked for.

All glory to You, Jesus Christ, my Healer and Deliverer. My All in All, knowing that the glory also will go to the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, for I have come asking my healing in Your Holy and Precious Name, Hallelujah, Amen and Amen!’

Herb Mjorud - Great Man of Faith

He died in his late 80’s. I knew him personally, for which I am grateful. He just lived in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a virtual unknown. He was a lawyer until he found Christ in his 40’s, then he became a pastor. Eventually God led him into a healing ministry.

Toward the end of his life, a friend of mine went to him for prayer for healing and got radically healed.

He had been working out of his home, inviting people from his church or by word of mouth for prayer for healing. He also had a ministry in Sri Lanka.

He told of amazing miracles that had happened in the third world. A woman without an eyeball in her eye socket had the eye grow right back into the socket in front of him as he prayed for her

A man who had a tiny arm that hadn’t developed properly had his arm grow out into a normal arm, right in front of Herb as he prayed for him.

One case was of a man who had a ‘male member’ that hadn’t developed properly. God restored it to wholeness, and he reported that he was able to father a child, or something.

Back in the States, Herb was used by God to heal people with mental illness and to restore people bound by things like homosexuality.

My friend had a freak accident while jogging in which her foot ended up shriveling up. The bones were starting to fuse together, and her foot was folding under.

She also got cancer on her head – small cancerous sores. She went to Herb for healing prayer.

She went back home and her family had been preparing to take her to a hospice where she would be dying.

One night she went to bed, leaving the cane she always used near her bed. She woke up because she heard her dog barking and went running to her dog. She suddenly realized that she had just run to her dog and didn’t need to grab her cane. Her foot had been totally restored.

The cancers on her head were gone.

This was in Minnesota – the land of little faith!

Herb had been struck by cancer several times himself, but was healed every time, and kept ministering until a ripe old age. He believed in praying and reading the Word of God at the same time, for healing.

He wrote out his pray-reading. See Herb Mjorud’s Pray-Reading The Word.

Now don't get me wrong. I like Beth Moore. But sometimes I am at odds with things she says, because they don't exactly set me free.

She's talking about fear.

She says that Esther was in the place of great fear for her life, because she was going to have to go to the King, who hadn't summoned her in a while, and if he wasn't pleased with her he'd order her death.

But she was willing to go to him for the sake of her people, the Jews, to ask him to free her people. She said, "if I perish, I perish."

Beth said that what we should do is say if____________then_______, about any other fear we may have.

She said if we say, "God will deliver me from this, instead of just saying "if this happens, then it happens and this is how I will deal with it," we are being conditional with God.

We are saying, "only if God delivers me will everything be OK."

That sounded good, until I started to try to deal with some of my worst fears, which are irrational.

Satan has attacked me with irrational fears. I think that I have carried some kind of guilt with me that seems to warrant this.

So I had a revelation today.

It says in the Psalms, "I sought the Lord and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears."

And it says in the New Testament, "Fear has to do with punishment, and He who fears is not perfected in love."

I don't think that we can be released from fear by thinking about what we fear and saying, "well, if this happens, then this is how I am going to deal with it."

if we think about some horrible thing happening to us, are we going to get comfortable with that? No, we are going to get more afraid the more we think about it. And there are theories that doing that causes bad things to happen. Double whammy. Now I'm afraid of something bad happening, and I'm making something bad happen because I'm afraid something bad is going to happen!

I think that we have to be able to stop thinking about it by saying that we are free from fearing it. And we are free because we are free from the fear of punishment.

And we are free because we have sought the Lord and He has delivered us from all our fears.

I also had the revelation that I have not been truly released by grace from the bonds of guilt and shame. I still need to be fully released from the past and all its shame by the love and grace of the Father, knowing that Christ's work on the cross was enough for all my sin.

Attemped Suicide in the Renaissance

It was a criminal offense in the Renaissance. You could be sentenced for merely attempted suicide. The sentence? Being put to death!

This is hearsay. I heard it here.

How Do You Decide Who To Marry? (written by kids)

You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming.
-- Alan, age 10

No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry . God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with.
-- Kristen, age 10

Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then.
-- Camille, age 10

You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids.
-- Derrick, age 8

Both don't want any more kids.
-- Lori, age 8

Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough.
-- Lynnette, age 8 (isn't she a treasure)

On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that Usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date.
-- Martin, age 10

I'd run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns.
-- Craig, age 9

When they're rich.
-- Pam, age 7

The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that.
- - Curt, age 7

The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with them. It's the right thing to do.
-- Howard, age 8

It's better for gir ls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.
-- Anita, age 9 (bless you child)

There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't there?
-- Kelvin, age 8

And the #1 Favorite is........

Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck.

Becoming Illegal (Actual letter from an Iowa resident and sent to his senator)

The Honorable Tom Harkin

731 Hart Senate Office Building

Phone (202) 224 3254

Washington DC , 20510

Dear Senator Harkin ,

As a native Iowan and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service , I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you..

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.

Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year.

Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications , as well as 'in-state' tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums . This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent, (hoping to reach 'illegal alien' status rather than just a bonafide citizen of the USA )

Blue Irises

There comes a point in your life when you realize:
Who matters,
Who never did,
Who won't anymore...
And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past,
there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future..
Give these flowers to everyone you don't want to lose in 2009

Do I Want Him or Do I want His Blessings?

"I don't want your blessings Lord, I just want you..." were the lyrics of the worship song playing over and over. After which the pastor got up and rebuked the worship leader. "i don't know where you got that song," he said, "but the theology is all wrong."

And I was thanking him.

Beth Moore's study on Esther said a similar thing yesterday, and we all left agreeing with her.

It sounded so right. She said that we need to seek the Lord, and not the thing - not the baby, or the finances, or the healing.

I was saying "yes, yes. That's it. Just the Lord, not the thing."

But today my spirit is restless and uneasy saying, "uh uh." You know what?

You just can't have the Lord without having His blessings. He comes with his healing. He comes with his provision.

He is His blessings.

You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for ever more.

Psalm 16:11

You can't be dying of a disease and say, "I'm just going to seek the Lord and not the healing." You can't be impoverished and unemployed and say, "I'm just going to seek the Lord and not a job, or food!"

No. Does this make sense?

We have to be beware of the "leaven of the Pharisees" which says to strive in the flesh to please God, not to just desire God from the heart and pursue Him with a heart of love.

If we're going to God with our needs and wants, then we're in the right place.

Otherwise, we might think because of what Beth said, that we can't go to God with those requests, and we'll go somewhere else - we will strive on our own to fulfill our needs.

We're going to seek the blessings, that is our nature. It just depends on whether we go to God or to something or someone else.

I was going to be sharing her message: seek the Lord, and not the thing that you want, but then I realized that wasn't what I wanted to say.

Burt Rosenberg's April Fool's Joke

Dearly Beloved You-ness,

While I do not consider myself a classically-trained actor, per se, I do acknowledge that there is a certain thespian aspect to getting up and Spritzing Truth in front of people. I understand that. No problem there.

But, I must say, I was totally unprepared for what happened two weeks ago.

A New York director, Joel Schumacher (from the Broadway producton of "Phantom of the Opera"), came to one of my Joy Seminars. I didn't know he was coming. And I didn't know he was there.

In retrospect, it's probably better that I didn't know he was there, if you know what I mean.

Afterward, Mr. Schumacher came back afterward, introduced himself, and said that I was recommended to him, and he wanted to see me. Wow.

Here's how it happened: Unbeknownst to me, someone sent in a letter and photograph of me to the London offices of Andrew Lloyd Webber. (Not the "professional" photo at the top of this email, but just a natural, impromptu picture somebody took one day.)

Andrew Lloyd Webber's people sent it to Joel in NY. When he saw it, he said he "had a sense" that I was a guy who could "BE" The Phantom. That there was "a natural affinity" for the character. I wasn't sure how to take that comment, but chose to receive it in a positive way.

I did see "Phantom" several years ago, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Although, on the night I saw it, there was a terrible accident in the theater. A big chandellier fell down and almost crushed about 80 people in a section of the audience. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the tradition of "the show must go on" prevailed.

But, I never really had ambitions of performing in a Broadway show. But, if this is what God wants, I am always open to new opening doors opening. And this is a big new opening door. And it is opening. And I am open to that.

Joel says a firm offer is forthcoming. If so, I have a big decision to make. Do I join a "secular" show? Or do I continue traveling doing ministry events & Joy Seminars, flying "under the radar"?

Anyway, I've taken the liberty to attach that same photograph. I'm not sure what they saw in it. I'm not objective. Maybe you could take a look and let me know what you think. Let me know if you can see what Andrew Lloyd Webber's people saw. I don't want to make a fool of myself. I covet your advice on this...

Thank you.

Your friend,

Sorry the photo in the attachment is positioned sideways. But, just cock your head to the left a little bit. Thanks!

When I wrote to him and advised him to "go for it" he wrote back and said "April Fools!"

Letters For Life

Sorry, especially to Sherri for my bad April Fools' joke. I'm still alive!

And speaking of life, there is something we can do to remind Obama of how precious the lives are that have been lost to abortion.

I am sorry I didn't get this out sooner. I already sent my red envelope today, but you can still send yours tomorrow. The deadline for sending them out was supposed to be March 31st, so the impact is there - receiving a large number of envelopes. But he should be receiving these for a few days after.

You go purchase as many red envelopes as you wish (Kinkos, party supply stores,) address them to the president, seal them with nothing in them, and write on the back:

This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion.
It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world.

The president's address:

President Barack Obama
The White House
